Mark Sekelsky (18), Mikadyn Payne (17), Trevory Gray (16) and Alexzander Miller (16), were sentenced to adult prison on Tuesday by Genesee Circuit Judges Joseph J. Farah, rejecting the defense’s request to sentence them as juveniles for their role in the 2017 death of 32 year old Kenneth White. A fifth teen, Kyle Anger (18), who was not in court on Tuesday pleaded guilty to second degree murder and is said to be the one who threw the rock that shattered the windshield of the truck White was riding in. Anger will be sentenced at a later date. White, who was only minutes from home, was knocked unconscious and pronounced dead when he arrived at a Flint hospital – his cause of death was declared a homidice, with blunt force trauma to the head and chest.

Three decades ago, a Colorado girl disappeared without a trace and police announced Thursday that her remains had been unearthed by an excavation crew at an oil and gas pipeline site in Colorado in Weld County. The remains belong to the 12 year old girl but the mystery surrounding her fate has yet to be solved. The girl, identified as Jonelle Matthews, disappeared in December 1984 after getting dropped off at her home in Greeley, Colorado which is about 50 miles north of Denver and was never seen again. Tuesday of this week, a crew working on the pipeline unearthed what appeared to be human bones and immediately notified authorities. The Greeley Police Department then announced in a statement, “Based on the evidence found on scene and the coroner’s examination of the remains, an identification … has been made. The remains are identified as Jonelle Matthews.” A cause of death had not yet been announced at the time of publication and no further details were provided except that the investigation into the girl’s death remains active.

Billionaire Chris Cline, his daughter Kameron, as well as David Jude, Geoffrey Painter, Jillian Clark, Brittney Searson, and Delaney Wykle were all killed in a horrific helicopter crash that occurred immediately following take off. Cline, who was a coal tycoon, along with his daughter and the other passengers were leaving the Bahamas when the helicopter spiraled out of control and crashed on the 4th of July. Authorities stated, “The purpose of the accident flight was to transport two of the passengers to FLL for medical treatment.” The type of helicopter that was involved in the crash was an August AW139, which had 17 seats. Several witnesses described seeing the helicopter take off, with one witness saying it climbed about 30 or 40 feet while in a nose-down attitude. Another witness claimed it climbed between 40 and 50 feet before it spiraled out of control and plummeted into the ocean.

While Tesla’s (NASDAQ: TSLA) autopilot function has gotten better and better over the years, Tesla reminds drivers that they must keep their eyes on the road and be ready to engage the vehicle if the auto-pilot fails to detect obstructions in the road, such as cars, trucks, people, or in this case, traffic barrels. Many Tesla owners clearly are not following the rules, as evidenced by this Model 3 driver, who fell asleep, plowed through a string of 11 construction barrels. Thankfully, no one was killed or injured in this accident. The Tesla Autopilot function is a great for making long highway commutes more enjoyable or even less stressful in some situations. However, drivers must realize that the autopilot is not fool proof and need to pay attention.

Jeffrey Epstein, 66, was found on the floor of his jail cell with bruises on his neck earlier this week while he was held, awaiting trail on sex trafficking charges. At the time of publication, it is unclear as to whether or not the injuries were self inflicted or from an assault from another person in the correction center. 

 Epstein was treated for his injuries but remains in custody at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center in NYC. 

It is also unclear as to whether or not Epstein had any cellmates while he awaits his trial at the time of injury. The particular jail he is in, is famous for its tight security and high-profile inmates, such as terrorists, Wall Street schemers, and even Mexican Drug Lord Joaquin “el Chap’ Guzman. Guzman is currently awaiting trial after being accuses of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls in the early 2000s. Bail was denied last week with the reasoning being Epstein may flee the country if released.
