Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is working on building an entirely new structure at its Fremont Factory that will include a solar roof installation to test its latest version of Tesla’s solar power product. Tesla first lunged its solar roof tiles back in 2017, and the automaker stated that it would start volume product installation in 2018. However, the actual rollout of the product has been much slower and installations have been limited to homes of some executives and a few of its customers. Elon Musk said that they had to make some changes and adjustments to the product to make sure it would last 30 years. At the 2019 shareholder’s meeting, Musk stated “We are about to complete version 3 of the solar roof. This is actually quite a hard technology problem to have an integrated solar cell with a roof tile, have it look good, and last for 30 years.” According to a recently submitted building permit, Tesla is building a structure to test the new solar roof tiles at the Fremont Factory.

America’s Renewable Energy Capacity Now Greater Than Coal
For the first time in history, America’s renewable energy capacity is now greater than coal. Even with ongoing political tensions regarding climate change, the exciting new report regarding renewable energy is showing the nation is actually becoming greener than ever. Conservational group SUN DAY Campaign ran an analysis that is including newly-added electrical generating capacity from other types of renewable energy sources such as biomass, geothermal, hydropower, solar and wind – and together, has now surpassed that of coal-generated power for the first time in history. SUN DAY Campaign announces a monthly “Energy Infrastructure Update” where in the latest announcements notes that 18 ‘units’ of new wind capacity and a 102 units of new solar capacity were added during the first 4 months of 2019. The wind capacity was measured at 1545 MW and the solar capacity at 1473 MW. The new metrics rank the US’s generating capacity of renewable energy at 21.56% with coal being dropped to 21.55%.
Why Is Renewable Energy Important Answered By Green Tech Talk
Fairfax, Virginia (Findit) May 29, 2019 – Green Tech Talk, a green energy solutions group, recently released a blog answering the popular question, “Why is Renewable Energy Important?” Renewable energy can impact the environment in positive ways due in large part to its many benefits when compared to nonrenewable energy sources, which make up the bulk of consumption today. Clean energy differs from nonrenewable energy in several critical ways. It is available to communities across the world thanks to the permanent presence of the sun, water, wind, and heat of the Earth’s core, unlike nonrenewable resources, which must be mined from specific areas and then shipped to their final destinations. This can also increase the costs of nonrenewable energy, while technological advancements continue to make renewable resources less expensive. Renewable energy has a smaller impact on the health of both people and their environment, as it releases fewer emissions and pollutants that can increase the Earth’s temperature or decrease air quality. Because of these differences, renewable energy has a strong, positive impact on the world. It can combat climate change by limiting the amount of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, helping cool the planet again. It is also inexhaustible, unlike Read more…
